The programme provides you with a rounded view of the management of ports and port terminals and the wider logistics industry. As part of the programme you gain the tools to be an effective project manager of port operations. The curriculum will cover container and bulk port operations, and you will learn to analyse how national and international governance affect a port’s management. You will also have the option to study law, and risk and asset management and broaden your experience with employer visits and lectures from guest speakers.

On this programme you will be assessed through a combination of coursework including case study reports, assignments and short class tests. Some modules also include problem solving tests through unseen written exams.

You will need: an honours degree or equivalent in Maritime, Transport, Logistics, Business, Management or related studies - Applicants with an unclassified degree and significant relevant industrial experience may be considered or Evidence of experiential learning in the maritime industry, such as a Master Mariner certificate or Other qualifications considered by the course team to be of similar academic level to the above or a non-UK equivalent qualification.
