This flagship two-year Global MBA offers you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of business, engaging with some of the most contemporary challenges faced by global business leaders.

Supported by our Global Leadership Development Programme and 12 month industry placement, you will be offered the opportunity to develop the most in-demand skills needed to confront the challenges and unlock the opportunities of a dynamic and unpredictable economic environment. You’ll also explore significant issues including business resilience and crisis management as a key part of the course.

The Applied Entrepreneurship, Design Thinking and Innovation specialism aims to empower students to increase business potential for continuous innovation and exponential growth. It aims to develop advanced abilities to critically evaluate new venture creation. It seeks to facilitate the formation of highly entrepreneurial teams driving business ingenuity, using Design Thinking tools for innovation and change in a crises-prone and volatile local and global business environment.

This applied MBA will provide you with the knowledge foundations of business before offering the unique opportunity to specialise in your chosen industrial field, allowing the flexibility to shape your study based on your career aspirations. It is designed to develop creative, flexible and aspirational leaders of industry.

You will be immersed in fundamental business principles. These core foundations of business integrate cross-cutting themes relating to the global challenges shaping today’s business environment, including technological change, the global political and economic context, social and demographic change and environmental crisis.

Study style

Modules combine a mix of case studies, applied practical learning and real-world applications, supporting you to develop the fundamental skills needed as a future a global business leader. All learners will be supported in applying for a competitive year long industry placement to develop their management capabilities, and maximise their career potential.

You will have a number of opportunities to personalise your programme, with our unique specialisation model and a range of options to engage with industry during your second year. Students will be challenged to think creatively and deliver novel solutions to complex business problems. To enable this, unique assessments have been built into modules that involve practical work-related assignment such as the ‘client-consultant scenario’.

Modules

This module aims to support students who want to expand their Entrepreneurial talent for spotting market opportunities and turning innovative ideas in viable businesses. It offers advanced critical understanding of the application of Intrapreneurship in not-for-profit, high growth firms and entrepreneurial organizations. It explores some of the major trends in the continuously evolving complex Business Environment through the lenses of Entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship management. It critically evaluates the process of establishing a new viable business enterprise in the context of a local and global business environment. It applies Entrepreneurial techniques and approaches to ideation of new products and services in established organisations. It aims to develop advanced critical understanding of contemporary intrapreneurial practice, supported by experiential approach using?theory and research to support a hands-on application of Entrepreneurial techniques and Entrepreneurship Management Frameworks. It considers the issues associated with new venture creation success and failure, ideation and creativity, innovation and change. It aims to facilitate the building and formation of highly creative and intrapreneurial project teams driving ingenuity for business success. It links Entrepreneurial acumen to Leadership capabilities to create new type of Entrepreneurial Leaders that nimbly respond in times of crises and uncertainty to Global threats and opportunities.

Entry requirements

A 2:2 honours degree or equivalent, or a comparable professional qualification and ideally a minimum of two years management / supervisory experience. Applicants with significant work experience but without a formal Level 6 qualification will also be considered. We will consider a comparable professional or postgraduate qualification.
