About Postgraduate Human Resources Management

Human Resource Management (HRM) is the strategic management of personnel within professional organisations. The programme covers areas such as recruitment, training, employee relations and interpersonal communication. Studying an online master’s degree allows you to develop the skills learned at undergraduate level, gaining valuable leadership and teamwork experience.

In the UK, entry to one of the 29 fully online HRM master’s courses requires a solid second-class honours degree or equivalent in a related field and ideally a period of professional experience. There is quite a variety of study modes within the 20 UK universities offering this type of course, and the duration can be anything between one and five years.

What to Expect

Since course delivery is online, you’ll receive all your study material, as well as assignments and assessments via your university’s virtual learning environment (VLE). Although a substantial amount of your work will be self-directed, you’ll also attend virtual tutorials and discussion sessions with your academic mentors and peers via the VLE, getting frequent opportunities for feedback.

Studying this course equips students with strategic HR skills vital for organisational success and teaches advanced teamwork and leadership skills which are highly transferable to employment roles in a diversity of types of organisations worldwide. Graduates are equipped for roles as HR managers, consultants or strategic business partners, contributing to effective people management in the workplace.
