Dr Cristian Maluk was awarded The Howard Medal by the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) Publishing. The Institution awards authors from both industry and academia who have produced work judged by their peers to be of exceptional quality and benefit to the civil engineering, construction and materials science community.
Dr Maluk was awarded the Medal for co-authoring the work entitled “Fire performance of metal-free timber connections“. Findings from this work lead to an improved fire performance of dowelled timber connections, which can lead to a significant improvement of the fire performance of whole timber structures.
The award ceremony was held last month at the One Great George Street in London, UK.
