We are very excited to announce that our School at The University of Queensland is looking to fill a new post in the area of Fire Safety Engineering (Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Associate Professor). The application closes on the 30 June 2017.
The role
The successful appointee will engage, as a lecturer, senior lecturer or associate professor (reader) in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, postgraduate supervision, and further development of the School’s Civil Engineering program, as well as performing research, administrative and other activities associated with the School of Civil Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering research group, and the Centre for Future Timber Structures.
The person
Research interests of the candidates may include, structural fire safety, fire dynamics, wildland fires, transport fire safety, material engineering, and other areas of fire safety engineering and science. The candidate should have a track record of research in the disciplines of Fire Safety Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent discipline. Candidates should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career, good general research skills, a strong methodological background, excellent statistical and analytic skills, very good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.
