Next Thursday 3 August 2017, the Centre for Future Timber Structures and the UQ-SFPE Student Chapter are hosting two exceptional events at The University of Queensland.
The Centre for Future Timber structures is hosting the ‘Realising Dreams with Timber Structures‘ event co-organised by Engineers Australia Structural College in partnership with the Timber Preservers’ Association of Australia (TPAA), Aurecon and Lend Lease. This event will consist of two keynote lectures by Mr Jack Norton (TPAA) and Mr Chris Ammundsen (Aurecon). Jack Norton will address the topic of timber preservation and durability, whereas Chris Ammundsen will present the challenges and benefits of using timber for 25 King, the tallest timber building in Australia.

The SFPE Student Chapter at UQ Fire is hosting a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Lecture co-organised by The Institution of Fire Engineers. The guest presenter for this event is Dr Michael Logan, who is the Director of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES). Dr Logan will be presenting on the topic of ‘Fire Spread and Fire Behaviour in Large-Scale Fire Incidents’.
