Bamboo construction at Woodford Folk Festival 17/18

From the 16th to the 23rd of December, I had the opportunity to work as a volunteer in the construction and updating of several bamboo facilities that were utilized during the Woodford Folk Festival 17/18. Architect Jed Long from Cave Urban led the construction and designing of this project, however approximately other 50 volunteers were working in buildings like the Hammock, the shade parade, the tea house, and the pineapple lounge among others.

Woodford Folk Festival and Cave Urban Architects are aiming to promote bamboo construction in Australia. Despite this project works as a temporary solution for the festival, it serves as an extraordinary example of how bamboo can be used as an alternative construction material in this region.

Following pictures show some of the moments during the construction period and during the festival.
