A PhD researcher from UQ Fire, Mohamad Lutfi Ramadhan, has recently been selected as one of The University of Queensland’s 2018 Global Change Scholars Program awardees. This prestigious program will provide a great cohort experience to 30 PhD students selected from across the University’s faculties and institutions.
The Global Change Scholars Program is hosted by UQ Graduate School and Global Change Institute with an initiative designed to produce research leaders with a deep understanding of the global trends and high level of awareness to drive the changes necessary for a sustainable future.
Global Change Scholars are awarded $5,000 upon completion and the chance to take part in intensive, seminar-style lectures, a four-day gate away at Lady Elliot Island and the opportunity to join an internship program alongside their PhD studies. On top of that, the scholars will also get to explore their own research in relevance to global change. This program also offers an exposure to a range of disciplines as scholars from different academic background will be able to interact with each other. Therefore, allowing the scholars to build a critical and broad perspective of global change from internationally renowned academics as well as industrial, political and societal leaders.
