On Tuesday 5 March 2019, UQ students attended a privately guided tour of the 43-storey 1 William Street tower. Students enrolled in FIRE4610 (Fire Engineering Design: Solutions for Implicit Safety) had the privilege of visiting the building and ask questions related to the various (and some complex) fire safety engineering considerations throughout the building.
This project-based course aims to enable students to apply engineering principles in prescriptive implementation of fire safety engineering solutions. This course includes intense group work, oral presentations, and related to the iconic 1 William Street tower.
